Google Fiber: A different kind of Internet. (Wow.)

Google is doing it again.
Google just anounced from Kansas City, streaming live on YouTube for other mortals to see, their new and amazingly fast Internet service, Google Fiber. It comes in 3 flavors so far for residential users:

-Free Internet at today's average speeds: This one gets you a free Internet connection for at least 7 years. You have to pay a construction fee of $300, but hey! 7 years (at least) of free Internet, how awesome is that? You can even pay those $300 in 12 monthly payments of $25, no taxes included.

-Gigabit Internet at $70 per month: Have you ever tried to upload an HD video to Youtube? How long did it take? ... Okay, imagine doing that within seconds. Do you play online videogames? Forget about waiting for the client to update! Imagine yourself doing everything you do today, but 100 times faster. Damn it, possibilities are endless! And no data caps. You also get 1TB Google Drive storage with this.

-Gigabit Internet + TV: Yup, Google is selling you TV. Hold on to your buttcheeks for this one: It costs $120 per month, but you get:
  • Up to one gigabit upload & download speed
  • Full channel TV lineup
  • 2 year contract
  • No data caps
  • Nexus 7 tablet
  • TV Box
  • Storage Box
  • Network Box
  • 1TB Google Drive

I was unaware of Google Fiber up until an hour ago, and I was lucky enough to catch the last part of the stream. Anyway, for more info about Google Fiber, you can go here: https://fiber.google.com.

Things I love: My Rollerblade RB-10 Inline Skates

I love my skates.
Okay, although they don't look as appealing as brand new, these are my inline skates, RB-10 by Rollerblade. They're from Rollerblade's 2010 urban skates lineup, and I think they look pretty cool if you ask me. They have 90mm wheels, which means they are quite fast, and the boot is very sturdy on the outside, but comfortable on the inside. They are my first skates (let's not count the ones I had when I was 7) and, although they're not made for beginners, I'm quite sure they make skating a much more pleasant activity than other cheaper skates that I would have bought if it wasn't because these were the cheapest ones on my size.

I've bought them while I was working in a ski resort last winter in South Lake Tahoe, because of a great discount I had for working there. It was like a 60% discount or so in every Rollerblade product I wanted. I was also thinking about buying rollerskates for a while by then. So one afternoon, I got in my PC and after thinking too much about it, I ordered my RB-10s and a full set of protections. "What can I loose at this price?" I thought. It turned out that the outcome surpassed my expectations.

Now, every Tuesday and Thursday night, I gather with a bunch of people of all gender and ages and together we skate all around the city.

So, yeah. I love my skates.
